Love Builds the HouseThe expectation of LOVE! Love is our motivating factor. It is what inspired Jesus in all that He did and so we are inspired to love people in the same way. Everyone needs love.
Relationship Strengthens the HomeWe believe in the importance of the relational connections people make to grow in their understanding of God, themselves, the body of Christ and their place within it. This begins by knowing and loving God, and becoming a person who builds meaningful relationships with others - becoming an integral part of a beautiful family. We are better together.
Mission Extends the WallsWe have a mandate to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. To be people who gladly share about the transforming ability of God who can change your circumstances, today. There is hope and a future. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we walk with God in the purpose He has given to us, sharing our faith and influencing our schools, homes, workplaces and every sphere our community reaches. Anyone can help build the Church.
Our Journey
Established as Drumcondra Church of Christ in 1925, the church grew and was instrumental in planting other churches in Geelong. Due to moves in population, in 1962 the decision was made to relocate the church to Church Street, Manifold Heights where it was renamed Manifold Heights Church of Christ.
In 1997 property was purchased on the corner of Anakie and Ballarat Roads, Bell Post Hill. The church, as Kardinia Christian Fellowship, met in Vines Road Community Centre while its new building was being erected. Renamed Kardinia Church, it moved into its new home on the Bell Post Hill site in April 2001, the current location of our Geelong Campus and Geelong Childcare & Kindergarten Centres.
In line with its vision to be a church of influence, Kardinia began a partnership with Belmont Church of Christ in 2006. In July 2010 it was relocated to Marshalltown Road in Grovedale, becoming our Geelong South Campus. To respond to the needs of rapidly growing communities, Kardinia merged its two Geelong campuses at the end of 2019 in order to navigate and plan for the future of possible new campuses here in the city of Geelong.
In 2014, Kardinia Warrnambool and Kardinia Ballarat Campuses were established and are now flourishing. The Warrnambool church community met in various local schools before opening its new church building in 2018 alongside our Kardinia Childcare & Kindergarten Centre.
What began as one church in a single location has grown and become ‘one church in multiple locations’ as Kardinia Church continues its commitment to becoming, more and more, a church of influence in our city, our nation and the world.
Our Community
Kardinia Church is active all week, providing places for people to develop meaningful connection and grow. We want people to feel at home and be cared for. Our connect groups are designed to create a healthy environment and good conversations for every season of life: Couples, Families, Kids, Youth, Young Adults and Seniors.
